The Heavy Horse velvet show rug is an extremely smart rug so ideal for use at shows and competitions.  The cut of this rug is designed for heavier horse types so more generous at the chest and shoulder and deeper down the sides to ensure a good fit.

The velvet outer fabric is high quality and has been quilted to help the rug maintain it’s shape and give a smart appearance.  The underside of the rug is 210D Nylon and the benefit of this lining is to help keep the coat smooth and prevent marking to the coat.  Velvet material, without a smooth lining, can cause friction and marking to the coat of the horse.   There is 100g lightweight filling.

At the chest there are double adjustable chest straps with D rings and robust trigger clips.  This style of front closure allows you to get a good fit for your horse.  There is a Nylon lined chest flap which covers the chest straps with a Velcro fastening to hold the flap in place.

There is a single adjustable girth strap with trigger clip and at rear there is a plastic coated elasticated fillet string with clips at each end.  This type of fillet string is detachable and easy to clean.

The rug has black binding to the exterior edges.   There is then a plaited gold binding, red plain ribbon strip and a gold chord giving the rug a striking appearance which enhances the plain black of the rug.

The rug is packed in a zipped bag with handles which is ideal for storing the rug when not in use.
